Michael Moore’s “Sicko”

I can’t wait to see Michael Moore’s next film Sicko. Over the years, Michael Moore has emerged as probably the most vociferous, most courageous film maker in America. Who else with the exposure and budget he has is tackling the subjects he does? Moore has taken on, exposed, cajoled, pushed, demanded, asked, and peered inside GM in Roger & Me, the gun industry in Bowling for Colombine, the Bush administration and the lies behind 9/11 in Fahrenheit 9/11, and now he turns his lens on the nation’s sad state of health care and insurance in Sicko.

For the richest country in the world, one of the most technologically advanced nations on Earth, to not have a better score on the World Health Organization’s (WHO) ranking of health care is pathetic. The United States ranks #37: between Costa Rica and Slovenia. Chile, Colombia, Morocco, Cyprus, and Dominica, countries known neither for being extravagantly wealthy nor technologically on the cutting edge all score higher.

View the trailer below and make sure you go see Sicko when it comes out on June 29th!
