dreaming of doing yoga in far away places
I’m currently in one of the most awesome, wonderful experiences of my life: a yoga teacher training given by Paula Tursi of Reflections Yoga. Soaking in the conversations of yoga, meditation, energetic healing, anatomy, inner discovery, coming to terms with your true nature, and psychological and psychic growth is something I want to do again and again and again. It seems going on “retreat,” or taking time to devote exclusively to practice, is a great way to keep practice deepening and growing.
I would like to go away for an “immersion week” this summer in Guatemala at one of Paula’s teacher trainings done at the lovely Villa Sumaya. Yoga facing the water in gorgeous weather sounds pretty good to me. Check out this beautiful video of a previous TT done at Villa Sumaya.
Last time I was in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, I took some yoga at a center affiliated with Arielle Thomas Newman’s Yoga by the Sea. She has a teacher training program with very competitive rates and also offers a work-study option. Yogis grappling with issues surrounding money and possibility, check it out!
